Who We Are

We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming Northern Breed dogs in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland. Our volunteers foster dogs in their private homes while trying to find permanent homes for them. Although as a group HTHNBR was formed in late 2005, our members have many years of rescue experience.

Breeds We Work With

We work with Siberian Huskies, Samoyeds, Keeshonds, Norwegian Elkhounds, American Eskimo Dogs and Alaskan Malamutes, as well as mixes of these breeds.

Finn, the Samoyed/Siberian Husky Mix

Finn is the best of his mixed breeds of Siberian Husky and Samoyed. He is an adorable puppy in a big body whose beautiful, long, flowing Samoyed winter coat sheds in the warm weather to a shorter, cooler, soft Siberian coat. He is a sweet boy who wants to cuddle please his humans. Finn enjoys spending his energy playing fetch and going for long walks. Playing with other dogs is one of his favorite things, but he needs to have a playmate that can keep up with him and not be afraid to wrestle, as you can see here. Finn would do best in a home with older children and no cats due to his exuberance. If you would like more information about Finn, please click on the Our Foster Dogs page.

Donations for Puppy's Surgery

This four month old puppy was hit by a car. His pelvis and femur are fractured and have begun to mend improperly. He needs surgery and prompt vet care. MaPaw Siberian Husky Rescue has foster home waiting for him and plans have been made to transport him to them next week. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated and will give him a new leash on life. Please go to MaPaw's site to make donations.

Make a Donation

Because we are a 501c3 non-profit organization, all donations are tax deductible. Donations go directly toward the care of the dogs. All of our dogs get standard check ups and are spayed, neutered, and up to date on vaccines before they are adopted out. We also have dogs that need additional vet care, such as eye surgery, treatment for Lyme disease, and thyroid problems.

If you find any problems with this site, please contact the webmaster.
